One-click templates
Templates deploy a ready-made open-source app (n8n, Umami, and others) with its database, disk and secrets set up for you. Browse them on the templates page; each one lists exactly what it creates and what it costs.
Deploy one
aloof templates # list ids and descriptions aloof deploy --template umami my-stats # create the app (add -e KEY=value for required settings) aloof deploy --template n8n my-n8n --plan shared-1x-1gb # pick a different plan
You can also use the Deploy on Aloof button on a template page (you'll be asked to log in first), POST /v1/templates/<id>/deploy, or the deploy_template MCP tool. Deploy tokens can't create apps from templates; use a full-access key or your login.
What it costs
A template costs the same as the pieces it creates: the app's plan, plus any disk (volume) and managed Postgres database it comes with. Each template page adds these up for you as a monthly figure if the app runs all month. Billing is per second, and apps that sleep cost nothing while asleep, so real cost is usually lower. See Billing.
Settings you must provide
Some templates need a value only you can supply, such as an API key or a domain. The template page lists these as required. If one is missing, the deploy is refused before anything is created, with a message naming the setting, and you aren't charged. Secrets the app needs to generate (like encryption keys) are created for you and shown once, so save them when they appear.
Templates currently run in our EU region.
